Hatch commanded a unit containing Regulan CSR-V12M Corsair aerospace fighters, which were chronically short of spare parts, his requests for more repeatedly denied. It was considered the formation of the alliance of the Federated Suns and Lyran Commonwealth might increase the likelihood of his requests being granted in future.[1]
