This background led him to join the 1st Armored Infantry Battalion as a tank crewman at age 16 in [[3011]]. From there he was promoted rapidly, and at age 30 in 3025, was considered to be youngest Eridani Light Horse battalion commander ever to that point. Sometime before 3025, Perrow fell in love with one of the Light Horse's [[Federated Suns]] female liaison officers, resulting in her being transferred by her superior Major [[Robert Green-Davion]] in order to stop the budding romance.
