Description
First Samurais were introduced for Terran Hegemony even before the Exodus when Terran forces realized the need of strong, capable ground-attack fighter. Fairchild Dornier managed to design fighter which would met expectations, and so Samurai production begun. Amaris Civil War however lead to destruction of Samurai factories stopping the production in 2774.
Armament
SL-25 is 50 ton Aerospace Fighter with 5 Medium Lasers firing forward to attack ground units and additional single Medium Laser for attacks while moving away. Additionally short range Small Lasers allow it to attack fighters of same size or larger, while single Aft. mount Small Laser is useful for dogfights with more agile enemy.
Variants
- SL-26 - After over 150 years of service Dornier redesigned Samurai to take advantage of Star League technology. This variant comes with XL Engine, Ferro-Aluminum armor and 18 Heat Sinks, while two Medium Lasers mount on wings were replaced with ER Large Lasers.
- SL-27 - Thanks to Dornier contracts with Lyran Alliance and ComStar new Samurai could be build. Based mostly on SL-26 the 27th mount 15 Heat Sinks, 2 Pulse Lasers, 2 ER Medium Lasers, 2 ER Small Lasers, single anti-aircraft Plasma Rifle and an additional aft-mounted ER Medium and ER Small laser.
