History
Margrave Sheridan Douglass was a noble from the Federated Suns planet of Verde and the commanding officer of the Twelfth Vegan Rangers until his retirement in 3048, at which point he passed the reins of command to Tom Stancel.[1] After his noteworthy success as a commander in the Galtor campaign, he was offered a commission in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns, but turned it down in favor of remaining with the Rangers. Peers reported that this was not first time he had been offered a commission by AFFS representatives, nor the first time he had declined such an honor.[2] Douglass was noted for being a historian in addition to his military career, giving educational lectures and occasionally producing scholarly texts. By 3026, Douglass had written and published a three volume autobiography and personal history he titled A MechWarrior's Life. The third volume recounted his experience during the Galtor campaign.[3]
Douglass was described by peers as being possessed of a strong personality, one that presented itself in blunt statements and uncouth language. He was noted for leading from the front in his personal Marauder 'Mech and was rarely found without a cigar clamped in his mouth.[4]

Margrave Douglass pilots a customized Marauder, dubbed the MAD-SD. This variant replaces the Marauder's dorsal-mounted autocannon with two SRM 4 launchers, and substitutes the two PPCs normally carried in the arm actuators for Large Lasers.
