A DCMS Tai-shu is the commanding officer of all military forces in a Draconis Combine Military District. This rank was formally recognized during Theodore Kurita's reforms of the DCMS. Prior to that time, the term "Warlord" was a position instead of a rank.[1]
Though a Tai-shu can be from either the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery or Draconis Combine Admiralty, they are expected to act in the best interests of both services. Given their immense power, Tai-shu reports directly to the Coordinator or Kanrei.
The rank insignia of a Tai-shu is based on that of a Tai-sho: A katakana number 5 on a background appropriate to the bearer's branch of service. The Tai-shu insignia, however, adds a bar under the insignia.
