Thos Cardella was a Lieutenant Colonel in the 21st Centauri Lancers.[2]
History
By February 3132, Cardella was a member of the 21st Centauri Lancers, serving in a light support lance. He had earned a reputation within the Lancers for marksmanship, but due to his near-pacifistic distaste for harming life, he had the lowest kill ratio in his unit, aiming mostly to suppress or disable his targets. He had captured his 'Mech in an objective raid on Federated Suns territory.[1]
Sometime prior to August 3133, Cardella, stationed on Galatea, guided INN correspondent Riva Juro for a profile on the Lancers. Juro rode along in his 'Mech for a Lyran-hired raid on Uhuru, a response to a Marik-Stewart Commonwealth raid on Rahne. While Captain Richard Teigart's Seventeenth Armored Recon Company struck the Marik-Stewart forces, Cardella and Juro sat strictly as observers.[3]
On 3 August 3133, the government of Towne announced that it had hired the Lancers - a single BattleMech lance and supporting vehicles would help defend the planet.[4] Cardella was one of the lance's members, and he helped protect Towne from a Stormhammers raid at the end of the month.[5]
As the situation in the Republic of the Sphere deteriorated, Cardella continued to serve, rising in rank. As an eventual lieutenant colonel, Cardella and his battalion worked throughout Prefectures VIII and IX, finding themselves overly heavy for the tasks at hand. When he finally returned to the main Lancers, Cardella called for the reformation of the Killer Bees as a light Lancers subunit, a project delayed until the Lancers' late 3151 Tamar Pact contract.[2]
Physical Description
Cardella was a large man, enough so that Elemental descent could be suspected. He had dark skin, a deep voice, and a perpetual sneer on his face.[1][3]
BattleMech
As of 3133, Cardella piloted a customized Sun Cobra 2. One ER PPC was replaced with an ER large laser while repairing damage.[1]
