The Dark Age
After the turn of the thirty-second century diplomatic efforts by the rulers of the Calderon Protectorate resulted in the construction of a new military production facility on Erod's Escape, with that construction being supervised by technical advisors from the Republic of the Sphere[17] and the Federated Suns. The Protectorate Military Industries (PMI) plant would go on to produce the lion's share of the Combat Vehicles that would serve the Protectorate's military forces, while also producing a large proportion of the Protectorate's BattleMechs.[16] A second, smaller PMI plant was constructed in a similarly supervised fashion on Tyrrhenia.[17][18]

It was confirmed by one of the writers that the plant opened on Tyrrhenia in the thirty-second century was a PMI facility, and was still in operation in 3145:[18]
