Before you get on my back about how I edited your CustomMech or Fanfic article, look at it again. If you look carefully, you will note that I tried my hardest to avoid editing the flavor of the article; I just fixed spelling, punctuation, and grammar (and not always all of those, characters do not speak perfect English all of the time so I tried to leave their speech alone as much as possible). I have obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, so it can be ''very'' difficult to restrain myself from fixing a-what might seem to anyone else-minor mistake. If you want to get technical, I am not supposed to edit these pages, however, many of the original writers no longer visit Sarna, and thus are unable to fix problems that they do not know about. As I mentioned before, I try very hard to leave the article alone other than these minor problems (even when I think I know how to write it better). I know ''I'' get cranky when somebody messes with the flavor of my articles (it has yet to happen on Sarna, but it has happened on other sites, so I do my utmost to avoid messing with content. That said, if you do not want me to tidy up your fan creations, tell me. If you find I've made a minor mistake (nobody is perfect), a misplaced apostrophe for instance, tell me so I can fix it, or for that matter, fix it yourself. Honestly, I don't mind.

== Homogenization ==
While I am aware that both "armour" and "armor" are legitimate spellings of the word, I find that it looks more professional/tidy to only use one or the other. Since the version without a "u" is more common on this site, I have started homogenizing the articles. I will start on other words such as gray/grey, colour/color, and stylised/stylized when I have time (or when I notice them :P).

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, when you open up the edit page, but then do not edit anything, could you hit "cancel" instead of "Save Page?" When I pull up BTW, the first thing I usually do is go to "Recent changes" and see what has been done since the last time I signed in (good for catching vandalism), and it would just make my life a lot easier if I did not have to look through all of your non-edits. I know you're not a bot and, frankly, the minor grammatical fixes you make are incredibly important — improving the quality of the content we already have is paramount if we're to be taken seriously and lure more Wikipedians and their ilk into making Sarna ''the'' definitive source for BattleTech related information.

However… you ''are'' a lean, mean, editin' machine. The sheer number of edits you make tends to flood [[Special:Recentchanges]] and is presumably a drain on both the bandwidth of other vigilant editors and Sarna.net. For every edit you make I have to look at the diff. comparison and mark it as patrolled. Combine that with the fact that many of your edits are to the same page, merely different sections of it, and we're looking at least 5 page views per revision you make (You visit the page, preview, save, I view the diff. comparison, mark as patrolled). Add Scaletail, Kittle and Bedove's seemingly checking every edit and you've got a lot of page views in total. Each page is a minimum of roughly 12.0 kBs. I know from experience how this can add up incredibly quickly.

I see three solutions to this. You can…
# …get given the bot flag, so other editors can filter your edits from recent changes.
# …edit entire articles, instead of every individual section.
# …stop editing.

I don't want to see #3 happen at all, and I know that #2 can be difficult to remember when you've already gotten into the habit of mass-editing. It can also be murder on dial-up users and I'm unaware of what sort of connection you have to the Internet. So I'm politely requesting that consider letting yourself get tagged as a bot, despite the fact you're not, as a courtesy to other editors. --[[User:Xoid|Xoid]] 23:16, 24 October 2007 (CDT)

::A large number of the original BattleMech pages were by [[User:CJKeys|CJKeys]]. While he didn't have the best spelling or grammar, he knew his stuff and was dedicated. We were quite the team, he carved out a niche as an article writer, and I copyedited what he created so it could shine. There were still many, many more 'Mech articles than I could reasonably handle on my own and during my absence the backlog has seemingly increased. Scaletail's not been helping… (adding more 'Mech articles to the wiki... shame on you :P)

The easiest way to do that, without multiple accounts, would be if DotR uses the edit summary for major changes. I purposely left them unitalicized as it is only BattleMech names that receive italics (to my knowledge). I have just reverted your edit that changed the words "a LAM" to "an LAM", but I feel I owe you an explanation. Your spelling would be correct if LAM was pronounced as single letters (EL A AHM), thereby starting with a vowel, but then the abbrevation would be spelled L.A.M. which is not the case. Further, I recall a discussion on the CBT boards once about how LAM should be pronounced and the conclusion was that it was pronounced as a single word (Lam). Based on this pronounciation, or alternatively expanding the abbrevation to "Land-Air-Mech", the word does not begin with a vowel and it is "a", not "an".

-::When you search, change the selection from "Advanced" to "Everything" and it will show thousands of results in the image galleries. The problem is that the entire category, "Planetary Neighbours", is misspelled, and if the category is moved, the pages won't move with it, and have to be moved to the correct category individually. Which makes thousands of pages that all need to be done in a short amount of time, which is an immense headache for everybody involved, unless there is some wiki magic I don't understand (entirely possible). For the moment, I am going to hope somebody more knowledgeable is able to move everything over at once.
