During the final years of the Star League, Zhongshan was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[39]

Red Corsair Raid[edit]

In May 3055, a pirate band of unknown origin led by the Red Corsair attacked Zhongshan. The militia sacrificed themselves attempting to delay the raiders long enough for reinforcements to arrive. They managed to hold them long enough for the Thirty-first Wolf Solahma Cluster to arrive in-system. However, rather than face the Wolves, the Corsairs chose to escape.[40]
