Arne LeSat was a member of a minor noble family from a backwater Lyran Commonwealth world, House LeSat of Kaumberg, who also served in the Twenty-fourth Lyran Guards as an aerospace fighter pilot.[1]

History[edit]

Military Career[edit]

LeSat joined the Twenty-fourth Lyran Guards shortly before the War of 3039 as a scout fighter pilot. In this role, he was considered to be an exceptional pilot, equally skilled at air-to-air combat and air-to-ground combat. While he did not see real combat until 3039, his prewar simulator record included over a dozen unassisted ’Mech, vehicle and fighter kills after his academy graduation.

This included a notable defeat of his combat flight instructor, Fourth Succession War ace pilot Hermann Scheere.[1]

FedCom Civil War[edit]

During the FedCom Civil War in 3063, Arne LeSat assisted his elder brother Baron Franklin LeSat in his struggle against House Hasseldorf, with the aim of claiming Kaumberg for Katherine Steiner-Davion. This included taking commanded of the House LeSat forces midway through this campaign, to allow his brother to focus on political wrangling, though the LeSat forces were ultimately defeated by their Hasseldorf enemies.[2]

Philosophical and political views[edit]

LeSat was a vocal critic of the Steiner-Davion alliance from before the War of 3039, and was considered to be a "Steiner supremacist" by his colleagues in the Lyran Guards.[1] This was consistent with his family's political views, who under Baron Franklin LeSat were nationalist partisans of the Lyran Alliance and then Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion, during the FedCom Civil War.[3]

Vehicle[edit]

LeSat was known to pilot a Seydlitz light aerospace fighter.[1]
