Lieutenant Beth Duncan was a member of the Strike Lance, Ninth Recon Company, Eighth Recon Battalion, 151st Light Horse Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse as of 3025.[1]

Duncan comes from a combine arms family, which was deeply intertwined with the Eridani Light Horse. She inherited her tank from her mother, her father was a retired MechWarrior who taught at the Eridani Combat School, her uncle was an aerospace fighter pilot, her brother an infantry officer, and her sister DropShip crew. This gave Duncan a considerable appreciation of how the fighting arms can work together, which together with her savvy, caused her to be brought to the favorable attention of her superiors.[2]
