Deborah Sheridan was a captain in the Wolf's Dragoons Mercenary group.[1]

History[edit]

Deborah Sheridan was the direct descendant of the famous MechWarrior Lynn Sheridan, one of the original Dragoons and member of the legendary Black Widow Company. She was described as having blond hair cut short, and with a quarter of her head shaved on the right side.[1]

Dark Age Era[edit]

She rose to the rank of captain, leading a company of Gamma, while they fought for the Draconis Combine during the invasion of the Draconis Reach and later the Federated Suns. During a battle on Saginaw, in 3150, she had his company on Dragoon's left flank, and received orders she interpreted incorrectly. During the fight, she lost half of her troops, killed or wounded.[2]

Despite the fact than the battle was won, Deborah was punished for her mistake of don't clarify the orders. General Thomas Brubaker gave her a year temporary reduction of one rank, and assigned her to Gamma Regiment, under Colonel Nicholas Crews command. Her defeat won her the nickname Debacle, which she had to keep the rest of her life.[3]

After the fall of New Avalon, the Dragoons were sidelined by their Combine masters, and Gamma experienced problems with them during their garrison of Parma. The 25 November, a Clan Wolf envoy arrived, and Deborah was one of those send to receive him, along Major Skott Whyte. The envoy, Marotta Kerensky impressed Sheridan, for his extensive knowledge of the Dragoons and respectful behavior with them, while she escorted him to see General Brubaker.[4]

Marotta had a surprising proposition for the Dragoons: he was there to ask them to terminate their contract with the Combine and travel to Terra to fight there for Clan Wolf against Clan Jade Falcon. He appealed to their common bonds, to the Dragoons' old rivalry with the Falcons, and with the historical opportunity it will be. Brubaker, though respectful and interested, refused his offer... but Crews, which had problems with the general and their Kuritan masters, which have arrested several Dragoons of Gamma for any fault, was interested, and Sheridan supported him, saying Gamma was with him.[5]

When Crews supported Marotta, Brubaker relieved him of his command... but that only worsened the situation. Crews, before losing his command, decided to mutiny, taking command of Gamma and leaving for Terra. Sheridan, resenting her punishment for Saginaw, supported him fully, activating War Plan R, jamming all Dragoons comms except those which Crews wanted.[6]

Marotta came with a full company worth of Wolf BattleMechs as a present to the Dragoons. After freeing the captive Dragoons, Crews promoted Sheridan to captain again, and used the freed Dragoons, and others, including Marotta, to create a new company, the Black Wolves Company, under Sheridan's command.[7]

The Black Wolves ambushed Brubaker's command company in the Battle of Parma, defeating them and capturing him. Sheridan survived the battle, and participated in the negotiations with Brubaker. In exchange for agreeing to lead the Dragoons to go to Earth, he demanded Sheridan and Crews to face justice after the battle for Terra. Both agreed.[8]

Deborah fought in the IlClan Trial, leading the Black Wolves against the Falcons' Zeta Galaxy. During the first part of the battle, after Marotta downed a Falcon's Ryoken II, she congratulated him.[9][10]

As she wasn't mentioned among the Dragoon survivors who gathered on Savannah on 3 June, it is implied than she was killed in the battle, which prevented a court martial for her actions on Parma.[citation needed]

BattleMech[edit]

Deborah Sheridan piloted a Blood Reaper, gifted to the Dragoons by Clan Wolf, which she used on Parma[11], the same which she fought with on Terra.[citation needed]
