Captain Eric Gamble was a MechWarrior with Wolf's Dragoons.

3139–3140[edit]
Eric Gamble was part of the Wolfsbane Battalion during the time that Wolf's Dragoons were employed by the Draconis Combine to conquer the worlds of the Draconis Reach. Gamble was the commander of the Wolfsbane's 'Mech Star. Gamble previously served in Alpha Regiment's Black Cats.[1]
3151–3152[edit]
By 3151, Gamble had been moved to commanding officer of the Black Widow Company battalion. After the Battle of Terra, his unit, with him at his front, was sent to make two raids inside the Wolf Empire. The first one, on New Olympia was a total success, without barely any casualties; the second one, August 16th on Campbelton, didn't go so well: the local Wolf defenders, led by the Star Captain Jacinda (Clan Wolf), were much more cunning. An Elemental, maybe suspecting Gamble was the leader, attacked and managed to open a breach on his 'Mech's cockpit, severely wounding him before Eric's lancemates could scrape him off.[2]
The other Dragoons were able to pull Gamble's 'Mech back to the landing zone. The next ranking officer, Captain Haya Tetsuhara, wanted to continue the attack, but under orders of Colonel Henry Kincaid had to retreat, admitting defeat.[3]
Gamble was in a critical state and nobody knew if he would survive, but he made it. Kincaid didn't let him to stay idle too much, but didn't give him the Tarantulas' back: he was put as the commander officer of the newly reborn Baker battalion, of Epsilon Regiment. By 20 April 3152, he was leading them in a combat exercise.[4]
