Captain Taneti was unhappy about the Long Striders' quiet garrison posting in the Magistracy of Canopus, having voiced her discontent for several years. Her craving for combat was eventually sated by a series of stubborn bandit raids, as her company was well placed to repulse each raid, but the suspicious pattern of the attacks coming right after her troops' redeployments began to raise eyebrows.[1]
