Jane Craigie was a Hauptmann-General in the AFFC.

History[edit]

In 3050, Craigie commanded the First Lyran Guards, assigned to defend Maestu.[1]

In early November 3051, Maestu was among the first worlds attacked by Clan Wolf during the Fifth Wave of the resumed Operation Revival. In a campaign reflecting the flamboyant personalities of the two opposing commanders, Galaxy Commander Mikel Furey and Hauptmann General Jane Craigie, Gamma Galaxy and the First Lyran Guards engaged each other in a highly dramatic fashion. Braving the Lyran's aerospace fighters, Gamma Galaxy performed a combat drop scant kilometers from the general's headquarters and unleashed a Star of Headhunters to assassinate her. The headhunters managed to slip through the Lyran lines and attack their headquarters, but despite fierce fighting General Craigie managed to escape. Before she could regain control of the situation however Galaxy Commander Mikel Furey launched simultaneous attacks at Rance 5633, Sjulla and Zwelton Grey and broke through the RCT's defensive lines, forcing a retreat towards the capital New Yoko. Before they could reach the city the Lyran Guards were cut-off at Cold Harbor and General Craigie, under orders to preserve troops rather than throw them away for lost causes, decided to retreat offworld to Shaula.[2]

During the fifth wave of Operation REVIVAL, Clan Wolf's Delta Galaxy invaded Shaula in December 3051. They were opposed by the survivors of the First Lyran Guards RCT, which had earlier been mauled by Clan Wolf on Maestu plus the mercenary unit Dirty Pair. Hauptmann General Jane Craigie was determined to avenge her earlier defeat and incorporated the local militia to replenish her ranks, even resorting to kidnapping when necessary. She determined the likely routes of advance the Wolves would take, set up ambush sites and planted Vibrabombs. Unfortunately she had not counted on Delta Galaxy's lighter and swifter 'Mechs. While they advanced along the predicted routes, they moved too fast for most of the planned ambushes to be attempted and were too light to set off the vibrabombs. Two Clusters were successfully ambushed at Kodak Springs by a battalion of Guard 'Mechs and a regiment of heavy armor, but the accuracy and maneuverability of the Wolves ensured their victory during that pitched battle. Other battles took place at Orcim Salt Flats and Rolyat Bridge before the Guards were finally defeated and forced to retreat, fleeing to Orkney.[3]

It is not known if she survived this battle.[citation needed]
