Star Colonel Jean Horn was the commanding officer of Clan Hell's Horses' Ninety-First BattleMech Cluster, and Bloodnamed warrior of the Horn Bloodhouse, from at least 3145 to 3152.[1][2]

Horn, with the Ninety-First BattleMech Cluster, was based on Apollo as of 3145.[1]
In March 3152, as part of the campaign to capture former Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone worlds known as Operation STAMPEDE, Horn and the Ninety-First were sent to conquer Mogyorod. Finding the world defended by the Vesper Marches' First Hesperus Guards instead of Clan Jade Falcon, the Ninety-First suffered heavily losses against the Guards, causing Horn to retreat to Black Earth to inform her Khans of the unexpected force. The Guards were however also heavily damaged by the fierce fighting, and withdrew shortly afterwards to Kikuyu.[2]
When the Horses' later learned of the Hesperus Guards retreat, it turned the Ninety-First against Horn, as they considered she had given up the fight too soon. However despite facing four Trials challenging her position, she managed to win against all comers, leaving three challengers dead and a fourth crippled for life. This left the Ninety-First with rock bottom morale, made worse by attempts by the Seventh Rangers Cluster to poach personnel and equipment during a series of Trial of Possession, the next of which Horn had pledged to face personally.
In an attempt to respond to the disquiet at her actions, Horn also pushed for the Horses' to launch a fledged offensive into the Vesper Marches, though she did not receive permission to do so during 3152.[3]
