General Stephen Harper was the commanding officer of the Fifth Lyran Regulars, and later the Coventry Province, during the Dark Age Era.

History

Early Life

Stephen Harper came from a long line of Skye loyalists from the world of Kirkcaldy, with his great-grandfather being among the members of the Fifth Lyran Regulars who resisted the Federated Suns troops on Skye, during the 3034 Skye Crisis. In 3122 Harper was appointed to lead the newly reformed Fifth Lyran Regulars, by Archon Andrew Steiner, which over time caused the unit to gain a reputation as a defender of Lyran pride and the honor of Skye.

Operation HAMMERFALL

In November 3137, Harper was on Millungera, which had been conquered from the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey during Operation HAMMERFALL. He and his troops had a run-in with Roderick Frost and his hard case unit the First Steiner Strikers, which ended with the Striker's vandalizing Harper's 'Mech immediately before they left for Tamarind, leaving Harper with a grudge against Frost.

Smolnik

In 3143, during the Lyran defense of Smolnik against Beta Galaxy of Clan Wolf, the then Hauptmann-General Harper was wounded after most of his conventional forces were destroyed. Troops from the 5th Lyran Regulars were forced to use a slow Schildkröte Line Tank to evacuate him under fire from the Thirteenth Wolf Guard Battle Cluster, after which he lived to be promoted to full General and command of the Coventry Province.

BattleMech

Stephen piloted a Mad Cat Mk II during the campaign of Operation HAMMERFALL.
