Takashi Inega was the commanding officer of the Third Company of the Royal Black Watch Regiment in 3062.[1]

Captain Inega, serving with the Royal Black Watch , was stationed on Luthien in 3062. A recent transfer to the unit, Inega personally asked First Lord Theodore Kurita to release him from service in the Second Legion of Vega so that he could join the Black Watch. While taken aback, the First Lord granted Inega's request in the hopes that it would reduce tensions between the Black Watch and local Draconis Combine military forces. While Inega still had to pass all of the Black Watch's typical tests, his performance and personality so impressed Major Annette McHenry that she quickly granted him command of the Black Watch's Third Company.[1]
