Theresa Mathews was the commanding officer of the Third Oriente Hussars as of 3063.[1]

Force Commander Mathews, serving as the executive officer of the Third Oriente Hussars, was stationed on Van Diemen IV in 3059. Mathews, a former pilot and marksman in SAFE's Eagle Corps, returned to the unit in 3059 after a three-year detachment to the Word of Blake Militia, with it being rumored that she served during the WoB's Operation ODYSSEUS and even spent time on Terra itself.[2] Whatever the truth of the matter, after being given command of the Third Oriente in 3063 and control of its continuing posting to Van Diemen IV, now-Colonel Mathews had survived six assassination attempts by 3067 that (unbeknownst to the Free Worlds League Military) were a Blakist reaction to her killing of a man named Satoshi Fujishima at some point in her career. Additionally, Mathews' command of the unit imbued the Third Oriente with a specialty in precision commando-style strikes, a legacy of her time working with SAFE.[1]
