Carmen Raventhir was one of triplets in 2689 to Magestrix of Canopus Kim Centrella and her husband. The Magistracy's matriarchal society meant that only the daughter, Jehan inherited the Centrella name; the two sons would carry their father's name, founding the distinguished Raventhir noble house.[2]
