Overview[edit]
Ben Myers (not Meyers) is better known in the BattleTech fan community by the pseudonym "Bishop Steiner". He is a freelance artist and avid fan of the BattleTech IP, best known for his prolific fan art. Shattered Fortress features his first official work for the franchise. Behind the scenes, he has redesigned seven of the BattleMechs in the Clan Invasion Kickstarter, as well as 13+ more 'Mechs and vehicles for the upcoming Mercenaries KickStarter along with contributing line art and writing on three Recognition Guides.
Other contributions to the BattleTech Universe include story consultation on the "The Baying of Hounds" Flashpoint for Harebrained Schemes's BattleTech, and pestering Piranha Games Inc. president Russ Bullock about adding the UrbanMech until Mr. Bullock relented and put it up for a presale, which turned out to be a smashing success. Likewise, his fan art for his police UrbanMech "Deputy Dawg" was the basis for the UM-K9 K-9 Hero 'Mechs. He also received his first writing credits for the entries for the Assassin, Firefly and Ontos in Recognition Guide: ilClan, vol. 29.
