Unit Description[edit]

The 3798th Provisional Test Battalion was a Federated Suns tank Battalion dedicated to test new combat vehicles.[1]

History[edit]

By 3090 it deployed a full staff of 483 people. Its unit commander, Major Jymm Sortek, was authorized to refit of a maximum of eight Challenger to Challenger Mk. XVc specifications at GM's Salem factory complex, which would then be used to complete his Alpha provisional test company.[1]
