Sergeant Aksel Vordel was a member of Wolf's Dragoons during the thirty-second century.

History[edit]

Aksel was a descendant of Hans Vordel, a Dragoons founding member and friend and personal bodyguard of Jaime Wolf. Aksel won the Vordel Honorname, and rose to the rank of sergeant prior to 3151, as a member of the Wolfsbane Battalion. Sometime after 3146, he received Nina Slade's Hellstar 'Mech following her death in the Battle of New Avalon.[1]

After the death of the majority of the Dragoons during the Battle of Terra, Aksel, along with the other Dragoons officers, attended a meeting on the DropShip Chieftain. There, the new Dragoons leader, Colonel Henry Kincaid' told them his plans to seek revenge against Clan Wolf. Aksel expressed his will to fight, and Kincaid promised him there would be fight opportunities for all.[2]

Vordel's chance arrived months later, in October: after Kincaid tasked the newly promoted major Haya Tetsuhara with rebuilding the long-defunct Zeta Battalion, Aksel was assigned as her personal bodyguard, the same task his ancestor had for Jaime Wolf. Aksel didn't talk much, but fully supported Haya.[3] When Zeta attacked the Wolf planet of Labouchere, Aksel's 'Mech was one of the first ones to disembark. An Indra tank shot him, but Aksel simply laughed it off and blew the tank away with only two ER PPCs.[4]

In their next target, the planet Alula Borealis, when Haya wanted to personally fight a Trial of Position against the Wolf commander for the planet, he screamed at her, but she fought anyway and won easily.[5] On the third target, Trellisane, on 17 February 3152, Vordel's 'Mech was the first one to land, right before Haya, but despite the fight lasting weeks, barely had chances to fight, though he downed a Stingray fighter.[6]

During Zeta's raid on Gienah, the Wolf capital, Vordel was the second one to disembark, after Haya, on 6 June, and helped to down a Wolf Dominator, and later, in an Alpha Strike, definitively downed a Linebacker.[7] In the battle of the capital, Alliago City, Vordel downed a Wolf Warwolf, and later fought against the Empire leader, Star Colonel Othar, helping bring down his Blood Reaper. He was also the one who reminded Haya that they'd achieved victory, despite the cost.[8]

BattleMechs[edit]

Aksel Vordel's only known BattleMech was a rare Hellstar-C.[9]
