Colonel Andrei Shostokovitch was [[Beta Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons)|Beta Regiment]]'s second commander. He was an extremely popular leader, having worked his way up through the ranks. "Shos" had a gruff, brash exterior that concealed a tremendous, if unorthodox, sense of humor. Despite all this, he was an excellent strategist who aggressively pushed his regiment, up to his death on Crossing.

Colonel Alicia Fancher an officer in Wolf's Dragoons during the early thirty-first century.[1]

History[edit]

Marik Civil War[edit]

Then Captain Alicia Fancher first distinguished herself as the commander of the Assault Company, Able Battalion of Beta Regiment during the Marik Civil War in 3014. At the time Able Battalion was led by Major Nikos Palassis, but when he was injured as his Warhammer fell in an ambush in the city of Urseinova on Emris IV, Fancher assumed temporary battalion command. Calling on all of Beta's armor for support, Fancher's force flushed the defending Ninth Marik Militia from the city.

Palassis returned to battalion command after he recovered from his injuries, until his retirement in 3020, at which time Fancher was promoted to Major and permanent command of Able Battalion.[2] [3]

Perhaps as a reaction to the reckless attack which injured Major Palassis, Fancher became a dedicated team player, always careful to avoid independent glory-seeking actions.[4]

Misery[edit]

While Fancher's command approach allowed for flexibility and improvisation on her own part, she absolutely demanded her officers and warriors strictly adhere to her plans and orders. This contradiction became a problem during the Battle of Misery, where Fancher was still in charge of Able Battalion.

Lieutenant Shannon Vernon, a member of Bray's Company of Able Battalion, disregarded orders and was demoted by Fancher to Sergeant. Colonel Jaime Wolf investigated the incident privately however, and found Vernon had exercised good judgement. Following Misery therefore, Wolf assigned Vernon to the Command Lance of Beta Regiment's First Provisional Company as a sign of confidence, and arranged for Major Fancher to retire.[4]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Sometime prior to the Clan Invasion however, Fancher was recalled from retirement by Jaime Wolf, and was promoted to Colonel commanding Beta Regiment.

In 3053, Beta Regiment conducted a raid against an unnamed Kurita world, with Colonel Fancher reporting no enemy contract beyond initial skirmishing with the planetary militia, but communications intercepted by the Dragoons indicated aerospace elements hiding beyond the planet's moon.[5]

In February 3054, Beta under Fancher's command also fought in the Battle of Morges, against Clan Jade Falcon.[6]

Dragoon Civil War[edit]

Although Beta performed well under Fancher, the Colonel's bitterness at being dismissed by Jaime Wolf after Misery over 25 years before, led her to side with Elson Novacat and Alpin Wolf in their coup against Wolf. Fancher may have fostered ambitions to command the Dragoons herself. Her death in late 3054 helped put an end to that conflict.[4][7]

BattleMech[edit]

Fancher was known to pilot a Warhammer BattleMech.[1] During the Dragoon Civil War, she piloted an Executioner (Gladiator) OmniMech.[8]
