History

In 3059, Alonso Gilmour commanded a flotilla carrying transporting equipment and personnel to the Ghost Bear occupation zone in the Inner Sphere. He led from the Shining Claw, a Congress-class frigate, which was accompanied by the Fire Fang and the Ursus, a pair of Whirlwind-class destroyers, and the Winter Wind, an Invader-class JumpShip.[1]

While passing through an uninhabited star system on 15 December 3059, the flotilla unexpectedly encountered Task Force Serpent, which was on its way to Huntress to strike at the homeworld of Clan Smoke Jaguar. The task force commander, Marshal Morgan Hasek-Davion, challenged Star Colonel Gilmour to a Trial of Possession for the Ghost Bear ships, initiating the Battle of Trafalgar.[1] The battle ended with Gilmour's surrender, after all the Ghost Bear ships had been disabled or destroyed.[2] He survived the battle and was marooned with other members of his Clan on Lee Shore.[3]
