The Dieron Regulars' attack on Apostica ultimately failed when the Lyran forces, though taking heavy losses, destroyed the attacking Combine 'Mechs. Nonetheless, the Lyran Commonwealth failed to develop an improved UMU system.[27]

While the planet's garrison had surrendered to Clan Jade Falcon, local resistance fighters continued operating against the Clan.
