Overview[edit]
In this battle, recon elements of the Fourth Deneb Light Cavalry were hidden in a recreational lake known as Waterhole Number Nine. With their BattleMechs in standby mode and submerged underwater, they were undetectable to the passing Kurita force focused upon the nearby Davion defensive line. Suddenly, Combine BattleMechs began to fall as the recon units, piloting mostly Javelins, emerged to hit their targets at point-blank range from the rear. Meanwhile, the Davion units holding the defensive line attacked the confused and disorganized Combine units.[2]
The Combine forces suffered heavy losses in this battle and a short time later evacuated Cylene II.[2]
