History[edit]
By 3130 she was the planetary Legate.[1]
She was made provisional governor of Bryant following the abrupt retirement of her predecessor. Her clashes with Elizabeth Welles, First Citizen of the Bryant Planetary Council, were almost as stormy as the planet's climate. Her gruff, military demeanor often chafed against Welles' more maternal personality. Welles has gone on record denouncing several of Jareque's policy proposals, including agro production quotas for off-world exports, and the commissioning of expensive exploratory missions into Bryant's weather-ravaged interior regions.[3]
Notes[edit]
- Jareque is noted as Governor rather than Legate in one source[2], swapped with the individual otherwise named as Governor by other sources[1]. As the Dark Age: Republic Worlds (3130) listing of Republican planetary Governors and Legates is generally relied upon by other Canon sources such as Dark Age: 3132-3134 INN, over the one in Dark Age: Republic of the Sphere, its information has similarly been preferred as correct for the purposes of this article.
