Brean McFadden was commander of the Blood Spirit Naval Reserve, also designated Blood Galaxy.[1] As such, he was commander of all WarShips, all transport vessels,[2] and all aerospace[1][2] units available to the Clan.

History[edit]

Star Admiral Brean McFadden gained his position in 3059 following the death of Star Admiral Phen Johns in the failed Clan Burrock Trial of Absorption that same year. The loss of the flagship Carmine Justice, supporting Beta Galaxy above Priori, to the Clan Star Adder Admiral William S. Preston meant the CBS Rocinante became the lead ship of the Reserve.

McFadden believed the small fleet resulting from a thirtieth-century Clan Snow Raven pact and the interference of the Star Adders was untenable. Labeling the low numbers a "liability," he was unable to convince Khan Karianna Schmitt that the number of vessels should be increased, or that the Blood Spirits would have to eventually leave the seclusion of York to survive.[2]
