On 2853, Ezra was about a hundred years old, in a wheelchair, but still lead the ELH's when they were stationed on Circinus, in a de facto occupation of the Circinus Federation, under contract of the Free Worlds League. He knew about Circinus' defenders, the Black Warriors being in reality a group of Pirates, but cannot do nothing about it. When the Pro-Tem Colonel Idris Majed, leading the 71st Light Horse Regiment, sent to launch a series of raids into the Lyran Commonwealth, uncovered it and destroyed the Black Warriors unit working with them, the 28 July, he meet with Majed and fully supported his actions, and teached him why they had to hide the truth and make careful compromises to survive.[11]
