System Description
The Hastur system is located near the Thurrock and Zathras systems.[2][3]
System History
The Hastur system was either colonized or absorbed by the Magistracy of Canopus at some point prior to the end of the Age of War.[2][4] Hastur vanished from maps during the Third Succession War, indicating that the system had either been abandoned, depopulated, or rendered too insignificant to merit further recording.[5][6][7][8][9][10]

Planetary History
Reunification War
Hastur was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a Star League Defense Force task force under the command of Captain-General Marion Marik was assigned to conquer the Magistracy of Canopus in 2577. Hastur was targeted by the SLDF in 2583 following a disastrous ambush at Thurrock, which destroyed almost the entire Canopian navy. Hastur was conquered quickly by VII Corps' 402nd Independent Regiment with support from the Third Marik Militia, with only a token resistance offered by forces on the planet before surrender.[12][49]
Hastur would be occupied by the SLDF for the remainder of the war; once the Reunification War ended, a number of Magistracy worlds were annexed by the Free Worlds League including several nearby, but Hastur remained a part of the Magistracy.[12][13]
Hastur vanished from maps during the Third Succession War, indicating that the system had either been abandoned, depopulated, or rendered too insignificant to merit further recording.[5][6][7][8][9][10]
In 3025, the wasteland planet of Hastur was primarily a prison world, with the major city, Lockdown, functioning as a city-sized penal colony. Prisoners provided slave labor for the planet's dangerous mining industry.[50]
