This article is about the former Khwarazm Empire planetary system. For the Federated Suns system, see Herat (FS).

Herat
System Information
X:Y Coordinates[e]

The Herat system was home to at least one habitable world and (as of 3059) under the aegis of Clan Jade Falcon.[1]

System Description[edit]

Herat was one of the four systems of the Khwarazm Empire, located coreward from the Inner Sphere. Presumably, it is close to those three other systems: Nishapur, Marv, and Urgenj.[1]

Planetary History[edit]

A mountainous world covered with large desert areas, Herat had temperatures slightly warmer than Terra. Khwarazmi technology was well below that of the Inner Sphere.

The Khwarazmi people were poor, subsistence farmers, while the merchant ruling class lived in relative opulence. This all changed after the Clan Invasion, as Clan Jade Falcon severely curtailed the rulers' freedoms.

The Explorer Corps had wanted to insert spies throughout the region to gather intelligence on Clan movements, while also supporting anti-Clan resistance in the empire.[1]

Notes[edit]

Considering they were used by the Jade Falcons, and what has happened to the rest of the Coreward posessions [sic] of the Inner Sphere Clans....
