History
Origins
Strongly associated with Tigress was the Laurel family, several generations of whom had earned fame even outside the Confederation for the actions of the all-female mercenary unit they supported, Laurel's Legion.[1] Chancellor Tormax Liao formally granted Tigress to the family of Erica Laurel as a personal fiefdom in perpetuity in recognition of her abilities; Erica was one of the best military leaders to serve the Confederation during the Third Succession War. At the end of the Third Succession War the citizens of Tigress enjoyed the highest per capita income and the highest standard of living to be found in the Confederation, thanks in part to the high level of industrialization on the planet despite Tigress' small size. Towards the end of the Third Succession War Tigress gained additional defenders in the form of Warrior House Hiritsu, who relocated to the planet.[2]
