Planetary Info
Hustaing has the dubious privilege of being the site of a war-starting event. In 3060 a battalion of the St. Ives Compact's Blackwind Lancers disregarded orders and attempted to assassinate Sun-Tzu Liao on the world. Unfortunately for the Lancers, the Chancellor wasn't on the world but his fiancee, Isis Marik, was. Warrior House Hiritsu killed the Lancers before any harm could come to the Duchess, but the Chancellor asked the Second Star League to provide peacekeeping forces along the Confederation/St. Ives area. Eventually these peackeepers were attacked by both Capellan nations, and the St. Ives Compact was reintegrated into the Confederation.[18]
Though the kidnapping incident launched a war, it has been beneficial for Hustaing's economy. Tourism has become a major industry. In addition, a large number of artists have arrived on the world to sell their wares. Several of these paintings have gone on to hang in some prestigious galleries. To augment this, the local military manufacturing concerns have also stepped up production and the planetary militia now uses small arms produced locally.[1]
