Jason Karrige (b. January 3rd 2769 - d. 2823) was the first Khan of Clan Widowmaker.

Personality

Karrige was known to have a ruthless streak in him after death his father. He was known for his way of smooth talking and his keen intelligence. His strong ambitions drove him to further, would be source of his demise.

Character History

Early Life

Born on New Syrtis in 2769, he was raised by his House Davion born family. Jason's father, Nigel, was logistic officer for the SLDF. His family was forced to travel numerously during the General Kerensky's campaign to liberate Terra from Rim Worlds Republic.

In 2784, Jason's family answered Aleksandr Kerensky the call for Operation Exodus and travelled with them to the Pentagon Worlds. Unfortunately, his father fell under sway of the mutineers of the Prinz Eugen rebels and was executed its aftermath. He and his mother had fell under the stigma of being one families related to the mutineers. From that moment on, he swore that he would always be in command of his destiny. Once they reach Pentagon Worlds in 2786, they settled on Babylon.

Military Career with SLDF

Once he was old enough Jason became determined to succeed, joined the Star League-In-Exile's SLDF. He won a spot at Eden Military Academy, becoming officer like his late father. He rose up the ranks of the shrunken SLDF till he surpassed his father rank of Captain, becoming a Major. However, the SLDF officer having long memory, created a glass ceiling for those who family was part of Prinz Eugen Mutiny.

Khan of Clan Widowmaker

In 2801, Major General Nicholas Kerensky called his fellow SLDF members to join him in his Second Exodus. Jason was one of the ones who chose to answer the call to join him.

On the Star League-In-Exile colony world of Strana Mechty, Nicholas Kerensky begun his work re-format society, starting series of brutal Trials to retain their spot in the in his new military. In creation of the Clans, after passing Kerensky's brutal trials, Kerensky would choose Jason for his drive and determination to lead one of his Clans despite his family's past. As Khan Karrige, he became the founder of Clan Widowmaker, with his saKhan Mariel Sanders.

He and saKhan Sanders would shape their Clan's principle 40 warrior Cluster into hard-hitting Combined Arms force. He would have frontline Stars of 'Mechs, while having bulk of the combined arms vehicle and infantry forces act as security. These forces shaped such a way stealthily looped outside of Nicholas Kerensky's 40 warrior limit.

In preparation forthcoming invasion of the Pentagon Worlds, his Clan successfully won the bid to send naval forces as part of the joint reconnaissance mission to Pentagon. The mission was not without peril where his Clan lost their Lola III WarShip, Black Venom, while process of securing the Dagda solar system.

With the successful break through with creating Ironwomb born children, Khan Karrige spoke to his entire Clan Widowmaker, they no longer fear death in March 2820, days before ilKhan Kerensky. Their time to reclaim the Pentagon worlds had come at last.

Operation Klondike

In July 22nd, 2821 Khan Karrige and his Clan Widowmakers was able finally deployed to their assigned target for Operation Klondike, Dagda. From a moon in the system, Khan dispatched elements of recon forces to ground with other assign Clans for the invasion. After discovering that Dagda had fallen into string of proto-city states. Khan Karrige and rest moved their forces into position to await their final order to attack. From HPG in August, they received word from ilKhan Kerensky to invade.

Once on the ground, Khan Karrige had his forces work with Clan Burrock forces to conduct a Commando raid into their first target was continent of Dratha. The joint commando raid with Clan Burrock struck the port city of Folke, capital of the Hailes Commonwealth. Shortly after the crippling of the Commonwealth's fleet his forces with Burrock successfully secured the city after ten brutal days of house to house fighting. They went on to move against the passive and brutalized Imbros Collectives. The Imbros were brutalized by their neighboring Proto-States were stunned occupier's "kindness".

In later stages of Dratha operations in September, Khan Karrige's forces along side Burrocks sliced through the Orient Dominion & Ryan’s Roughnecks with easy, despite their foes outnumbering them. Widowmakers concentrated their efforts against the Orient Dominion, moving ahead quickly and taking their headquarters.

In 22nd October, as the Widowmakers made their way around Dratha's coastline. SaKhan Sanders would be shot by assassin in the mining village of Sunflower. After succumbing to her wounds and dying after being media-vacced. Khan Karrige would call his active bloodname warriors to vote whom replace the saKhan using provisions laid down by Kerensky. Combat Operations would halt for two days, when he and his clan would choose fiery Cal Jorgensson as saKhan.

After voting in of the new saKhan, Karrige saw all opposing troops guilty as one who assassinated Sanders. This mark beginning of Karrige's Clan tendency for brutality.

His Clan would be assigned to secure outer locations around Black Brian, the fortress held by the Brotherhood of Donegal. They would be form security force with their fellow Clans while the ilKhan and Clans Wolf and Jade Falcon would fight siege of the Fortress 54 days.

Clan Wolverine and his demise

With conquest Pentagon Worlds complete, Jason Karrige's ambitions grew. He began to weave political strings to gather more power for himself.

With a year of end of Klondike he was caught up with Clan Wolverine, with official records stating he was killed by them. However, many records of the time, linked with Not-Name Clan, were intentionally lost. It was suggested, that Khan Karrige sided with Wolverines instead of being killed by them. It also felt that his actions during the Wolverine Treachery maybe been considered bad, enlighten that his legacy was lost in out come in comparison to others whom sided with Wolverines.

After his death, his genetic legacy was loss, striking down his name from bloodname houses.

Year of birth is incorrectly listed as 2669 in character's profile in pdf-version of Historical: Operation Klondike, this has been fixed in print version.

Details of his actions during the Wolverine's rebellion have not been fleshed out as of this writing.

Rules

Game Rules

Khan Karrige receives certain AToW RPG and Force Specific Rules abilities when he is in use. In roleplaying situations, receives a +1 to all social skill rolls. When he employed on the battlefield, forces under his command would receive +2 to morale check and receive the Overrun Combat ability when using scenario special rules.
