Description[edit]
In 3044, Clan Ghost Bear Khans Nornian Tseng and Ursula Jorgensson called for the creation of the largest WarShip ever conceived, larger than the venerable McKenna battleship class. A few years later, Ghost Bear Scientist Caste members realized that the Leviathan lay outside of their abilities, and so turned to the Snow Ravens, long recognized as an ally and masters of WarShip construction in exchange for rights to asteroid mineral resources.[3][4]
Construction on the first two vessels was well underway when the Trials for participation in Operation REVIVAL began. The Snow Ravens, with the Ghost Bears among the invader Clans while they themselves were not, were significantly less enthusiastic about the Leviathan project. At the same time, the new Ghost Bear leadership placed less emphasis on the ships, and construction effectively ground to a halt. It was not until the ascendance of Bjorn Jorgensson to Khanship that the Ghost Bears sought to continue the project.[4]
After the Battle of Tukayyid, the Ghost Bear Khans quietly embraced the Warden cause and the Warrior Caste made the call to relocate the entire Clan to their Inner Sphere occupation zone. To keep the operation a secret, the two incomplete Battleship Leviathans would be recommissioned as heavy transports to help with the move.[3] At the time, the ships were functional and armored, but lacking much of their planned weaponry. The hulls were then modified to carry cargo and the millions of lower caste members, while retaining the appearance of a fearsome WarShip.[4]
By 3055, the two ships became operational and helped the silent exodus that would result in the successful relocation of the entire Clan Ghost Bear population to the Inner Sphere, by ostensibly "patrolling" as a battlecruiser the deep periphery supply lines, but were in actuality giant armored transports.[3]
After the operation was completed, the ships were scheduled to be converted into their intended military role as heavy battleships, albeit the changes made in mid-construction to turn them into transports meant the upgrade would be different from the originally envisioned Leviathan battleship specifications, instead known as the Leviathan II class. The Combine-Ghost Bear War and Clan Nova Cat's failed Trial of Retribution for the incomplete refit Leviathan II Rasalhague delayed the work for some time.[5]

The ship's weaponry is light capital weaponry while providing a significant amount of anti-spacecraft defense.
Its principal capital weapons in the bow/front section include a single heavy naval Gauss rifle, with two NAC/35s, two Medium Naval PPCs, and an AR-10 Launcher with access to 25 Killer Whale, 50 White Shark, and 100 Barracuda capital missiles. Standard weaponry for the bow/front includes eight Gauss rifles with 600 rounds, 10 Extended Range & Pulse Large Lasers coupled with a cluster of medium grade lasers of the same weapon types. The bow is protected by five anti-missile systems with one thousand shots shared between them.
On the Front Right and Left sections, it features a single Medium Naval Laser, NAC/30, and AR-10 Launcher with same payload of missiles as the bow. Standard weaponry includes 10 ER Medium Lasers, with half as many Pulse models, 3 Streak SRM-6 Launchers with 600 missiles, and five AMS with 1000 rounds of ammo.
The ship's broadside carries a single Medium Naval PPC and AR-10 Launcher with an identical payload as the bow. Standard weaponry on each broadside includes 5 Extended Range PPCs, 10 ER Large Lasers, 5 Large and Medium Pulse Lasers, and 6 LRM-20 launchers with Artemis IV with 600 missiles shared between them.
The Aft Left & Right sections likewise have a single Naval Autocannon 30 and AR-10 launcher with the same payload as the bow. Standard weapons include a mix of ER and pulse-type medium lasers, three SRM-6 streak launchers with 300 rounds shared between them, and five anti-missile systems with one hundred rounds of ammo.
In the Aft section of the ship, the ship has only a pair of Medium Naval PPCs for capital-grade weaponry plus an AR-10 launcher. For anti-aerospace craft defense, the ship has eight Gauss rifles with 600 rounds of ammo, a number of large and medium grade pulse lasers, ten extended range medium lasers, and five anti-missile systems with 1000 rounds shared between them.
Equipment[edit]
The Leviathan is equipped with a lithium-fusion battery and its own hyperpulse generator communication system.
The ship slowly moves slowly at up to 1.5 Gs in short bursts, while burning 39.52 tons of fuel a day. Its fuel bunker contains over 15,000 tons of fuel, to keep the ship going on its long voyages between Clan space and the Inner Sphere. The ship is protected by over 1,538 tons of Ferro-carbide armor and has a structural integrity of 110.
