In 3055, Mark was residing on Arc-Royal with his grandfather. At this time he met with Victor Steiner-Davion to whom he expressed frustration over the betrayal of his uncle Phelan Kell.[2]

Mark fought besides Victor Steiner-Davion in a sim battle, and on September 3055, when the Red Corsair was to attack Arc-Royal, it was Mark the one which answered to her challenge, posing as a young militia officer, as part of a trap laid to trap the pirates.
