Marshal "Marsh" Waits was a MechWarrior who served in the Seventeenth Recon Regiment, also known as Camacho's Caballeros.

History

Marshal Waits was one of those serving in the Caballeros in 3056 when they were employed by Chandrasekhar Kurita to provide security for one of his companies, Hachiman-Taro Enterprises. Marshal served in the Seventeenth's Second Battalion under the command of Force Commander Rabbi Maccabee Bar-Kochba. On the 2nd of November 3056, the Seventeenth fought a pitched battle in the streets of Masamori, the capital city of Hachiman, against the Ninth Ghost, as a result of machinations by the Internal Security Force. A company of 'Mechs from the Ninth managed to walk up the bed of the river that ran through Masamori during the low point of the tidal bore, gaining access to the HTE compound and launching a potentially devastating attack on the Caballeros. That attack was halted initially by Colonel Carlos "Tiburón" Camacho in his Mad Cat OmniMech "Great White"; as other Caballeros became aware of the attack, Bar-Kochba dispatch a jump-capable Jenner from the Second Battalion to support Don Carlos, while Marsh's Marauder and Bar-Kochba's Warhammer "Hammer of God" moved to assist. The four 'Mechs successfully defeated the attack, although not before Lieutenant Colonel Marisol "la Dama Muerte" Cabrera had taken fatal injuries.[1][2]

BattleMech

Marshal Waits piloted a Marauder.

Notes

  • Although Waits's rank isn't specified in the novel Close Quarters, all of the MechWarriors mentioned in the novel who are assigned a rank are at least a lieutenant junior grade or higher, making it likely, but not certain, that Marsh was either a lieutenant junior grade or lieutenant senior grade.
