During the Year of Peace the 6th Ghost regiment had constructed extensive defenses in preparation for the resumption of hostilities, and when the Smoke Jaguar's 3rd Jaguar Cavaliers invaded they led them in a running battle along the length of the continent, destroying a number of Jaguar 'Mechs in ingenious traps. At the last the Jaguar commander ordered his heavy forces into Drenden and commanded them to lay waste to the city, hoping to draw the regiment into open battle. The Ghosts complied and faced them in Asquare Field, an area they had previously sown with bombs and traps. However the Third Cavaliers had learned their lesson and sent members of the technician caste ahead to trip the bombs in advance; once accomplished they proceeded to cut a swath right through the Sixth Ghost. Operation Bulldog
Marshdale was invaded in the third wave of Operation Bulldog by Ryuken-ni, Com Guard's Ninth Division, and the First Fusiliers of Oriente. The defending Alpha Galaxy Command Trinary and Ninth Jaguar Cavaliers took very heavy casualties and were defeated.[29]
