History[edit]
Oonthrax has experienced both the highs and lows of the 'Mech games. In 3021, The Stable received a very lucrative offer by Brandon O'Leary, CEO of Mountain Wolf BattleMechs: offering them a Merlin to publicize it, with the parts to repair it for free. However, the gladiator Do-Hyun Adeoye was soundly defeated two times piloting it, so O'Leary personally intervened, making sure Adeoye was trained, and he and his instructor, Cassandra Fox, won a total victory piloting two Merlins at The Wreckoning.[1]
The Stable was by 3051 on a downslide without a champion for the previous ten years and their MechWarriors not considered the best. Hot newcomer Glenn Eddenhoffer had the potential to turn the trend around. The Stable had been offering especially generous contracts to attract new MechWarriors without much luck as the poor reputation of the Stable had been hampering the process.[2]
Despite its purchase and renaming as the Skye Tigers Stables, an Oonthrax Stables was operating in the years immediately preceding the Word of Blake Jihad. While its relationship to the original Oonthrax Stables or the Skye Tigers was unknown, this Oonthrax was at the time the only stable to purchase Innovative Design Concepts CDG-2A model Cudgel,[3] as well as having a warrior take part in the grand reopening of the FedCom Civil War damaged Steiner Stadium.[4]
