Otto Karosas was the son of Simon Karosas. Like the rest of his family, he had remained loyal to House Arano after Santiago Espinosa usurped her and formed the Aurigan Directorate. During the Directorate's rule, he was imprisoned in the Icebox, a prison camp in Weldry, where the mistreatment broke his mind and his body. After the Icebox was liberated by the Arano Restoration's forces, his father took care of him, hoping he can recover someday. After his father's death, he is the only known survivor of House Karosas.
