History Brief
Outreach was first settled during the twenty-second century by Terran colonists attracted by the planet's warm climate, large tracts of arable land, and abundant natural resources. During these early years Outreach became known as an agricultural exporter but tourism became the mainstay of the planet's economy after the planet became host to the Star League Martial Olympiads in 2704. Outreach's tourism industry withered following the collapse of the Star League toward the end of the century which forced many inhabitants to emigrate.
Outreach came under Capellan control in 2786 and its fortunes continued to decline until the Fourth Succession War when the Federated Suns captured the planet. Following the cessation of hostilities, First Prince Hanse Davion granted Outreach to Wolf's Dragoons who were considered one of the most famous and formidable mercenary units in the Inner Sphere. This heralded a renaissance for the world as the Dragoons transformed Outreach into a center of mercenary trade for the entire Inner Sphere.
With Outreach hosting the Dragoons and equipped with state-of-the-art defenses monitoring all incoming traffic, the planet became an island of calm after the Sarna March collapsed into the so-called Chaos March. Eventually the Dragoons formed the Allied Mercenary Command to fight the fanatical ComStar off-shoot the Word of Blake's increasing influence in the Chaos March. Blakist supported mercenary units staged a rebellion which heavily damaged the Dragoons and Outreach's facilities. During the subsequent Word of Blake Jihad, the planet suffered terribly from nuclear orbital bombardment on 26 December 3067 which crippled both the mercenary unit and their homeworld.[1][2] Blakist forces patrolled the ruins until being forced off-world by the reborn Black Widow Company.

Outreach contains twin continents, named Romulus and Remus. Romulus contains the planet's capital, Harlech, as well as all of its major cities and commercial enterprises. A mountain range known as the Ridge bisects Romulus, and outside of the cities, the continent's countryside turns in small farms and lightly forested hills. Remus, also known as the Outback, is the private hold of Wolf's Dragoons. The mercenary unit maintains a headquarters and training facilities on this arid desert continent. The entire planet enjoys a warm, temperate climate all year round.
