Roadside was settled in the late 24th century to take advantage of the vast amounts of fertile soil. These vast plains were perfect for agricultural production of the Lyran Commonwealth. Unfortunately, a small microbe in the planet's water supply infested the colonists and afflicted them with a variety of short-term intestinal problems. Once the colonists recovered, scientists discovered that these microbes became a part of the person's digestive tract. In addition the microbes had beneficial effects in combating certain types of stomach and intestinal cancer.[1]

During the FedCom Civil War the 15th Arcturan Guards and Archer's Avengers destroyed the Jade Solahma Cluster by destroying an ammunition plant.[23] Clan Jade Falcon forces conquered Roadside for a second time in late January 3069.[19]
