Formation
In 3026 Takashi Kurita ordered the creation of a BattleMech unit trained in the tactics of the Wolf's Dragoons mercenary unit. Takashi later ordered that the Ryuken where to be split into several company's and each was to expand to regimental size. The Ryuken-yon was one of the units formed.

Tai-sa Shodaru is the CO of these unit and is highly decorated with the Bushido Blade and The Warders of the Dragon.
Tactics
The unit prefers to fight a night. During such operations the forces attacks from 3 sides. The last open direction is a covered trap. Every opponent unit will be slaugher by precive strikes from TAG guided missiles from missile carrier. 12 Mechs defend this support unit normaly,

- The unit contains 36 omnimechs and all other machines are fully upgraded. The command owns many advanced targeting gear also.
- Ryuken-yon Aerospace (1 Wing/Veteran/Questionable)
- The unit received some of the high value omnifighters.
- Ryuken-yon Armor (1 Regiment/Regular/Questionable)
- To increase the fighting capabilities of these unit, the high command give them 3 companies of advanced weapons carriers.
- The SRM Carriers are semi omni vehicle, such means the can accept Arrow IV launchers if necessary.
- Ryuken-yon Infantry (1 Regiment/Veteran/Questionable)
- The infantry includes 6 squads of pathfinders, which are also skilled in demolition work behind enemy lines.
