Clan Smoke Jaguar assaulted Tarnby during the Clan Invasion, confronting the defending 4th Pesht Regulars with Trinaries Assault and Battle of the 6th Jaguar Dragoons. The battle took place at Divers Grotto, where the inexperienced soldiers of the Fourth Regulars proved to be no match for the Smoke Jaguars. It began with a predawn raid by Trinary Assault's heavy- and assault-weight 'Mechs, whose superior firepower outmatched the Kuritas' in one-one-one combat, while the sudden appearance of Trinary Battle's seemingly indestructible Elementals cause many to flee in panic. When the regiment's eastern flank collapsed Star Captain Bowen of Trinary Battle quickly exploited this break in the enemy's lines and ended the fight in a stunning victory.[29]

Control of the planet was handed over to Clan Nova Cat in November 3051 during the Fifth Wave of the invasion, with the remnants of the 4th Pesht were still resisting Clan rule.
