Clan Star Adder Naval Forces

Clan Star Adder historically kept the Clan's shipyards and drydocks above Albion and Sheridan at maximum capacity, leading to a surplus of naval vessels. Damage to facilities by Clan Mongoose and the Absorption of Clan Burrock left the Clan with too many vessels, and the Star Adders had both one of the largest fleets in the Clans and a robust mothballed reserve to call on. Even so, the Star Adders were forced to contract with Clan Snow Raven to make up the difference at a cost of resource rights.[1] Those circumstances changed following the Annihilation of Clan Smoke Jaguar, and the Star Adders were able to reactivate a Naval Star on their own, a situation that signaled a challenge to the black-water naval primacy of the Snow Ravens.[2]

Clan Star Adder assigned one WarShip to each frontline Galaxy, and secondline or solhama units as needed according to their mission profile. Additionally, the Naval Adjutant has the authority to form Provisional WarShip Stars for high-priority targets or convoys as needed, as well as order Reserve ships to immediate deployment. Full complements of fighters are assigned to WarShips, military JumpShips, and DropShips, and Khans have historically recognized both the deterrent factor and potential battlefield impact of aerospace forces.[1]

Clan Star Adder took up a self-appointed position as the guiding hand of the Clan Homeworlds post-Wars of Reaving and has used its naval forces to protect the Bastion view violently. It was active until losing contact with the Inner Sphere, destroying a Clan Cloud Cobra WarShip that went contrary to their ideals and attempting to punish the Hanseatic League, to differing results.[3]
