Lonny Ortega was a MechWarrior who served in the Seventeenth Recon Regiment, also known as Camacho's Caballeros.
History[edit]
Born on one of the three Southwest Trinity worlds, Lonny was one of those serving in the Caballeros in 3056 when they were employed by Chandrasekhar Kurita to provide security for one of his companies, Hachiman Taro Enterprises. Ortega was a part of the Caballero's Infante Company under the command of the enigmatic Captain Santo.[1][2]
On 7 September 3056, Lonny married Janine "Mariposa" Esposito, a Valkyrie pilot and fellow Caballero.[1]

Although Lonny's rank isn't specified in the novel Close Quarters, all of the MechWarriors mentioned in the novel who are assigned a rank are at least a Lieutenant Junior Grade or higher, making it likely, but not certain, that Lonny was either a Lieutenant Junior Grade or Lieutenant Senior Grade.
