Chu-i Robert McClure was an aerospace fighter pilot in the Sixth Benjamin Regulars and posthumous Draconis Combine war hero during the War of 3039.[1]

McClure was a capable officer, an unexceptional pilot, and a man who had predilections toward certain fetishes. His adjunct Minerva McClure, who wished to advance from secretarial duty to be an aerospace fighter pilot, discovered these inclinations and offered to marry him in order to defuse questions regarding his chaste bachelorhood. He accepted the offer, using her beauty to end embarrassing inquiries, and her skill as a pilot to provide himself an excellent wingman.
The couple's fame however arose from their final battle in the skies above Marduk during the War of 3039 against the First Robinson Rangers. Chu-i Robert led one of three aerospace squadrons sent to disrupt the landings, but driven by his wife's skill and courage in the face of the Davion DropShip's overwhelming firepower, both McClure's performed kamikaze runs which destroyed a Union-class DropShip each. The remaining Kurita fighters were only able to cripple one further Overlord.
DCMS propaganda made the two a staple of wildly inaccurate Combine romances, reversing their real life roles, making Robert a bold and talent husband supported by his dutiful wife.[1]
