Operation Rat

As of 3028, the unit had been stationed on New Aragon when the war began. The unit was assigned to the First Wave of Operation Rat to take Styk with Davion Heavy Guards in August. The planet's Air & Space Traffic Control Center was disabled by MIIO agents to prevent the planet's air wings from deploying against the multiple regiment force.

On their arrival, they faced two inexperienced battalions of the Capellan Reserve Cavalry and battalion elite 'Mechs and infantry from Warrior House Fujita. The during the fight with the Cavalry, the Hussars lured them into pursuing them. In what they thought was Hussar's retreat, the Capellans where they then ambushed the inexperience unit and forced them to surrender after surrounding them.

After the Heavy Guards and MIIO agents eliminated Warrior House Fijita, they secured the Tao 'Mechworks from the militia attempting to destroy it. The 20th detached two battalions of BattleMechs and single battalion of Infantry garrison the planet. The 20th then moved on to next operation of the War.[1]

In December 8th, 3029, the 20th Avalon and two regiments of the 12th Vegan Rangers (Gamma and Delta) hit the Capellan world of Tsinghai. The former industrial world was defended by a battalion from both the 5th Confederation Reserve Cavalry, and the Preston's Lancers. While the Ranger Regiments ran the Cavalry off the planet, the Hussars surrounded the Preston's Lancers base. However the Lancers broken the encirclement but not without difficulties. As Lancers broke the encirclement, the Hussars' aerospace fighters and hover tank regiments trying to intercept the them. The Lancers turned and fled to near by river valley, with entire RCT in pursuit.

The Hussars were ambushed in the valley several times by the Capellan 'Mech battalion. The Hussars dispatched a entire armor regiment, with a battalion of BattleMechs in to the delta river valley.
