Anton’s Revolt
In 3014 the 12th Atrean Dragoons supported Anton Marik in his revolt against his brother.[1] Though the unit as a whole declared in favor of Anton, several high ranking officers including battalion commanders, chose to resign their commissions rather than support Anton.[2] This loss of experience wasn't a problem when the 12th secured McKenna and Semenyih[3], but when the 12th attacked the 11th Atrean Dragoons on Matheran they were slow to take advantage of the 11th's inexperience. This led to a months-long game of cat and mouse between the two Atrean Dragoons regiments that stopped only when Smithson's Chinese Bandits arrived to reinforce the 11th. The Bandits inflicted serious damage on the 12th, forcing them to break off their attacks. In exchange, the 12th had reduced the 11th Atrean Dragoons to half-strength.[4]
Shortly after the Bandits arrived, Anton Marik reassigned Wolf's Dragoons Beta and Gamma regiments to reinforce the 12th Atrean Dragoons.[5] The 12th Dragoons, reinforced by Wolf's forces, smashed the 11th Atrean Dragoons. Smithson's Chinese Bandits withdrew from the conflict on Matheran and went to Carbonis.[6]
Along with Beta and Gamma regiments and the 3rd Ducal Guard, the 12th Atrean Dragoons were assigned to Operation Condor, Anton's attack on Calloway VI. Janos Marik was using Calloway VI as a staging area for his push into the rebel areas. Anton was unaware that the world held five Mech regiments. The 12th Atrean lost another Union-class DropShip on their way to the world, which cost them an entire company.[7] The 12th Atrean and Ducal Guards were surrounded by the First and Second Oriente Hussars and forced to surrender.[8]
After the Marik Civil War ended, the 12th Atrean Dragoons were rebuilt by Janos Marik.
4th Succession War
The Twelfth went on to fight in both the Fourth Succession War and the Andurien Secession.
Andurien Secession
In 3033 the 12th Atrean Dragoons faced off against the 5th Defenders of Andurien on Scarborough. Both sides sustained heavy casualties, and the 12th was recalled to Vanra to rebuild.[9] The damage they sustained kept them out of the rest of the Andurien Secession.
War of 3039

Operation Guerrero
During Operation Guerrero the 12th attacked Marcus alongside the 5th Marik Militia and the 7th Free Worlds Legionnaires. The 12th FedCom RCT's Mech regiment attacked the 7th Legionnaires to provide time for their supporting units to escape. The 12th Dragoons and 5th Militia encircled the 12th FedCom's Mechs and destroyed them.
